Rice Paddy Art

Assalamualaikum. How are you today?

Tonight I’m going to share with you something that related with art. I really love art but unfortunately, my hands can’t do well when it comes to art. I really jealous with people who can do well in art and I are really amazed when I found out that in Japan, they do not design their art on canvas but they did in on rice paddy!

In 1993, the farmers in Aomori Prefecture have been creating designs on rice paddy fields by choosing different kinds and colours of rice to plant in order to form a great masterpiece of art.

Every year these farmers will plant rice of different colours in order to create new artworks and they will last all through the growing season until the time of harvest.

For decades, the lucky person such as Mona Lisa, Napoleon, Marilyn Monroe, and anime characters have been designed on this rice paddy. This rice paddy art is the other way to makes people smile. In order to enjoy this art, there is a tall viewing platform that has been prepared for the tourists.
